Rødbyhavn has been officially designated as one of Denmark’s new National Industrial Parks. The area will offer up to 1,000 hectares of contiguous land for large-scale industrial development, with direct access to major transport corridors and proximity to significant renewable energy resources.
This designation reflects a national commitment to strengthening Denmark’s industrial competitiveness, supporting the green transition, and creating new jobs outside major metropolitan regions.
“This is a historic opportunity for Lolland,” says Holger Schou Rasmussen, Mayor of Lolland Municipality.
“The national designation gives us the framework and momentum to attract companies that want to be close to renewable energy and the new connection to Germany. We are ready to welcome industries that want to grow here.”

RThe Rødbyhavn industrial area benefits from:
With the upcoming Femern Belt Tunnel, Rødbyhavn will offer the fastest land route between Scandinavia and Germany, linking companies directly to northern European supply chains and industrial markets.

“No other location in Denmark combines available industrial land, international connectivity and proximity to renewable energy at this scale,” says Mikkel Wesselhof, CEO of Business Lolland-Falster.
“This is a strategic gateway location, and first movers will shape the industrial cluster that grows here.”
As a designated National Industrial Park, Rødbyhavn will benefit from:
This framework reduces establishment risk and accelerates time-to-operation, key factors for energy-intensive industry, component manufacturing, logistics and production facilities.
The area already hosts major construction activity related to the Femern project, including:
Rødbyhavn is positioned to support:
This makes it one of Denmark’s most forward-looking industrial development opportunities, particularly for companies aligning with offshore wind, green fuels, and electrification-linked manufacturing.
The development phase is now progressing, and early engagement offers the strongest strategic position.
